When this class is a fit
SPS is Nexus for several Scrum teams. It needs willingness to compose cross-functional teams, authority beyond your own work, and some Scrum already in play.
It is not a fit when:
- The organization is not willing to compose a cross-functional team
- The learner has little influence over organizational design
- There is no named framework in use yet
- The work still runs as waterfall or stage-gate
Often a stronger starting point when
- The current need: Coordinate several teams
- Influence over organizational design: Considerable (e.g., I manage the work of several teams)
- How work runs today: Several Scrum teams
- Influence over organizational design: Significant (e.g., I manage/direct the organization or large business unit)
- The organization is willing to compose a cross-functional team
